You could say that with Nymphomaniac its director, Lars Von Trier, has made it easy to use sex to provoke the public ... except that he's been provoking and shocking, with or without sex, since the time of making Dogma.
But surely Nymphomaniac is a tough and provocative film, which looks out openly on a world of tough, vicious, dirty and unleashed sex with the complicity of all actors, a real stellar cast, to tell different chapters of life of its protagonist, Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, who after being picked off the street by an old and charming bachelor (Stellan Skarsgård), and after he beats her, will narrate all this sex adventure.
